Clifford Chance, a global law firm, advised Mäurer & Wirtz, one of Europe's leading fragrance manufacturers, on the acquisition of Classic Parfums and The Nose Behind. Mäurer & Wirtz's in-house legal team, led by Florian Bongard (Head of Legal), with support from Timo Jansen and Markus Peter, also participated in the transaction. The transaction involves Mäurer & Wirtz acquiring Classic Parfums and The Nose Behind, which will continue to operate as independent entities in the luxury and niche fragrance segments under Mäurer & Wirtz's umbrella. The acquisition, subject to customary regulatory approvals, is expected to be completed on 1 January 2026. This marks a strategic milestone for Mäurer & Wirtz, representing the second-largest acquisition in the company's history after its purchase of the 4711 brand.
