"Jindal Power Acquires 1320 MW Thermal Power Plant in Haryana with CAM's Legal Guidance"

"Jindal Power Limited, through its subsidiary Jindal Jhajjar Power Limited, has acquired 100% shareholding of Jhajjar Power Limited in one of India's largest recent thermal power deals. The acquisition was facilitated through a competitive bidding process initiated by Apraava Energy Private Limited. Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas provided legal advisory services for the transaction, with a team led by Partner Manasvini Raj and supported by other associates and partners specializing in due diligence, regulatory, land disputes, competition law, and employment incentives."

Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas advised Jindal Power Limited on the acquisition of 100% shareholding of Jhajjar Power Limited through its wholly owned subsidiary, Jindal Jhajjar Power Limited (JJPL). The transaction involved Jindal Power emerging as the successful bidder in a competitive bid process initiated by Apraava Energy Private Limited (AEPL) for the acquisition of 100% shareholding in Jhajjar Power Limited. Subsequently, JJPL entered into a share purchase agreement to acquire 100% of equity shares and compulsorily convertible preference shares of Jhajjar Power Limited from AEPL, Apraava Renewable Energy Private Limited, and Kohima Mariani Transmission Limited.
