"Eqwal Group Expands UK Healthcare Presence with Acquisition of Reed Medical"

"Cripps has advised Ortho Dev UK Limited, part of the French Eqwal Group, on acquiring Reed Medical (Holdings) Limited and its subsidiary, Reed Medical Limited, a UK-based manufacturer of orthopaedic and therapeutic footwear. This acquisition strengthens Eqwal Group's presence in the UK healthcare market and the European medical footwear sector. The Cripps team, led by Olivier Morel, provided legal support, while Forvis Mazars and Leonard Curtis Legal advised on financial and seller matters, respectively."

Cripps and Leonard Curtis Legal were the law firms involved in the transaction. Cripps advised Ortho Dev UK Limited, part of the French-based Eqwal Group, while Leonard Curtis Legal acted for the sellers. Forvis Mazars provided financial advice to the buyer. The transaction involved the acquisition of the entire issued share capital of Reed Medical (Holdings) Limited and its trading subsidiary Reed Medical Limited by Ortho Dev UK Limited. Reed Medical, based in the UK, specialises in the manufacture of orthopaedic and therapeutic footwear for individuals with diabetes, arthritis, and other complex foot conditions. This acquisition represents Eqwal Group’s continued expansion into the UK healthcare market and strengthens its European presence in the medical footwear sector.
