"Airbus Partners with Thales and Leonardo to Establish a New European Space Entity"

"Airbus, Thales, and Leonardo have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to create a new European space company by merging their satellite production and related services. This collaboration aims to strengthen Europe's strategic autonomy and global competitiveness in the space sector, leveraging the technological expertise and operational capabilities of the three companies. The new entity is expected to be operational by 2027, subject to regulatory approvals. Airbus was advised by the law firm Bredin Prat on legal, competition, tax, intellectual property, and social aspects of the agreement."

Bredin Prat advised Airbus in connection with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Thales and Leonardo, aimed at creating a new European space entity by combining the space activities of the three groups. The transaction involves the consolidation of satellite production and associated services from Airbus, Leonardo, and Thales to establish a resilient European space player. The new entity aims to strengthen Europe's strategic autonomy and enhance its global competitiveness by leveraging the technological expertise and operational capabilities of the three companies. The project is subject to customary regulatory conditions and approvals, with the new entity expected to be operational by 2027.
