Dentons advised Arete Group, an independent asset manager operating in the real estate and energy sectors, on its debut transaction in the Polish energy market – the acquisition of Bio Term. The transaction involved Arete Group acquiring Bio Term, a company engaged in the generation of thermal and electric energy, as well as the transmission and distribution of heat and electricity trading. Bio Term owns and operates a gas-fired combined heat and power (CHP) plant located in Świebodzice. The deal received all required regulatory approvals and marked the first transaction of the Arete Energy Transition Sicav fund, launched in May 2025. Dentons provided comprehensive transactional support throughout the acquisition process. The team in Warsaw was led by partner Maciej Skoczyński, with counsel Maciej Ziółkowski leading advice on energy and regulatory matters.
