"The future of the 'An der alten Molkerei' retirement home in Leer has been secured through insolvency proceedings, with the b.health Group set to take over operations starting November 2025. All 75 employees will be retained, and the 44 current residents will continue receiving care in their home. The b.health Group, which specializes in care and rehabilitation facilities, plans to strengthen and develop the retirement home while maintaining community ties. The restructuring process, led by Dr. Christian Kaufmann and the PLUTA team, ensured stability for both residents and staff."

PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH and Puke Dresen Mall GmbH participated in the transaction, assisting ESG Leer GmbH and the b.health Group respectively. The transaction involved the acquisition of the ‘An der alten Molkerei’ retirement home in Leer, operated by ESG Leer GmbH, which had filed for insolvency in the summer of 2025. Effective 1 November 2025, Lebenshuus An der Alten Molkerei GmbH i.G., part of the b.health Group, will take over the facility, ensuring continuity of care for its 44 residents and retaining all 75 employees. The retirement home, which has 92 single rooms, will benefit from future stability under the new operator, who plans to further develop the facility and increase occupancy rates. The PLUTA team included insolvency administrator Dr. Christian Kaufmann, attorney Mr. Alexander Bortfeldt (LL.M.), business lawyer Ms. Nicole Neumerkel, and business management expert Mr. Frederic Hupens (M.A.). Puke Dresen Mall GmbH supported the M&A transaction.
