"Novagria Ventures Launched: A New Venture Builder Driving Innovation in the Agri-Food Supply Chain"

"Novagria Ventures, a new venture builder focused on innovation in the agro-food supply chain, has been launched with the support of Cdp Venture Capital, Gellify, Mutti, Sipcam Oxon, and Crédit Agricole Italia, along with partners like Regione Emilia-Romagna and Agenzia ART-ER. Managed by Gellify, the initiative aims to create up to six innovative companies over the next three years, with an initial investment of €5.65 million and potential funding rounds reaching €45 million. The goal is to address technological and process gaps in the agro-food sector, enhancing efficiency, sustainability, food safety, and global competitiveness. Legal counsel was provided by Bird & Bird, Dentons, and Gianni & Origoni."

Bird & Bird acted as deal counsel, supporting all parties, while Dentons assisted Mutti, and Gianni & Origoni provided legal support to Gellify. The transaction led to the establishment of Novagria Ventures, a new venture builder dedicated to innovation in the agri-food supply chain. Promoted by Cdp Venture Capital, Gellify, Mutti, Sipcam Oxon, and Crédit Agricole Italia, Novagria Ventures aims to foster the creation and development of innovative enterprises in the agri-food sector. The project plans to establish up to six new companies over the next three years, with an initial investment of approximately €5.65 million and potential subsequent investment rounds mobilizing up to €45 million. These enterprises will address process and technological gaps in the agri-food supply chain, enhancing operational efficiency, environmental sustainability, food safety, and global competitiveness. The legal teams involved in the transaction included Bird & Bird's partner Calogero Porrello, senior associate Sara Calamitosi, and associate Alice Maria Cuccio; Dentons' partner Alessandro Dubini, co-head of the Corporate M&A department in Italy; and Gianni & Origoni's partners Federico Dettori and Rodrigo Boccioletti, along with counsel Matteo Canonico from the Gop4Venture practice area.
