DLA Piper advised Sparring Capital on the legal and tax aspects of its latest investment vehicle, Sparring Capital Fund 3 (SCF 3). The private equity firm, based in Paris, successfully completed a final closing of €280 million, surpassing its initial target of €250 million. The fundraising was finalized in a single closing in September 2025, following an accelerated campaign concluded during the summer. The previous fund, SCF 2, raised €173 million in 2020. Launched in January 2025, SCF 3 attracted a diverse group of both historical and new investors from France, the Benelux, the DACH region, and North America, with nearly 90% of commitments coming from leading institutional investors, including fund of funds, insurance companies, foundations, and sovereign wealth funds. The transaction highlights DLA Piper's expertise in supporting management companies and institutional investors across all aspects of their international fundraising efforts, including legal, tax, regulatory, and investor negotiations.
