Coca-Cola HBC Acquires 75% Stake in Coca-Cola Beverages Africa for $2.6 Billion

"Coca-Cola HBC has acquired a 75% stake in Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) from the Coca-Cola Company and Gutsche Family Investments for a total purchase price of $2.6 billion, valuing 100% of CCBA at $3.4 billion. In a significant transaction, Pestalozzi advised Coca-Cola HBC in its acquisition of a 75% shareholding in Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) from the Coca-Cola Company and Gutsche Family Investments, while Schellenberg Wittmer represented the selling parties. The deal, valued at a combined purchase price of US$2.6 billion, establishes an equity value of US$3.4 billion for 100% of CCBA. The Pestalozzi team included partners Christian Leuenberger, Severin Roelli, Oliver Widmer, and Remo Keller, along with associates Mercedes Chiabotti, Niku Gholamalizadeh, Julia Pfister, and Seraina Oschwald. The Schellenberg Wittmer team comprised Oliver Triebold (Corporate/M&A), Pascal Hubli (Corporate/M&A), Marcel Jakob (Corporate/M&A), Daniele Simoniello (Corporate/M&A), Elia Claude Schunck (Corporate/M&A), Nanina Lätsch (Corporate/M&A), Olivier Favre (Banking & Finance), and Michael Nordin and Tabea Bänteli (both in Taxation).
