Harrisons Advises EBRD on €5 Million Loans to Erste Bank Podgorica for Energy Efficiency and Women in Business Programs

Harrisons has advised the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) on two loans to Erste Bank Podgorica, totaling EUR 5 million. The transaction includes a EUR 3 million loan under the Western Balkans REPower Residential Program aimed at supporting housing associations and construction firms in energy-saving investments, as well as a EUR 2 million loan under the Western Balkans Women in Business Program designed to support women-led businesses. The energy efficiency loan features grant incentives funded by the EU, providing borrowers with access to up to 20% of the loan amount upon successful investment completion. Additionally, borrowers and Erste Bank Montenegro will receive expert technical assistance funded by Japan and the EU for effective implementation. The loan for women entrepreneurs includes guarantees for first-loss risk cover, funded by the EU through the European Fund for Sustainable Development Plus.
