This transaction, part of Ciclad's development strategy through its Ciclad 7 fund, aims to strengthen Capelec's position in France and support its international expansion. Founded in 1989, Capelec serves nearly 900 customers in over 80 countries, generating close to €30 million in revenue, with 60% from international markets. Bird & Bird provided legal advice on corporate and due diligence aspects, while Capelec was advised by Lamartine Conseil."

International law firm Bird & Bird assisted Ciclad, a prominent player in the French private equity market, in acquiring a majority stake in Capelec, a manufacturer based in Montpellier, France. Capelec was advised by Lamartine Conseil on corporate aspects. This transaction, classified as an Owner Buy-Out (OBO), involved Ciclad partnering with CEO Thierry Coton, who has led the company since 2005. The acquisition is part of Ciclad's development strategy through its Ciclad 7 fund, marking its sixth investment. The goal is to support Capelec in strengthening its leading position in France, expanding internationally, and entering new market segments with the introduction of ultrafine particle sensors. Bird & Bird's team included partner David Malcoiffe and associate Clément Le Molaire for corporate aspects, as well as partner Étienne Guillou, supported by associates Constance Brouquier and Mérine Avaby for due diligence. Lamartine Conseil's team comprised partner Clyve Monfredo and associates Florian Tranchecoste and Marine Canu.
