Horten Advises EIFO on Secured Loan for GreenRoc's Amitsoq Mine Development in Greenland

"Horten has advised The Export and Investment Fund of Denmark (EIFO) on a secured convertible loan agreement with GreenRoc Strategic Materials Plc to support the exploration and development of the Amitsoq mine in Greenland. The funding will be used for further exploration of high-grade graphite and to establish a pilot processing plant. GreenRoc aims to become a key supplier of graphite anode materials for the electric vehicle industry, contributing to a secure European supply and supporting the green transition in Europe."

Horten advised The Export and Investment Fund of Denmark (EIFO) on a secured convertible loan agreement with GreenRoc Strategic Materials Plc. The transaction involves EIFO providing financing to GreenRoc to support the exploration and development of the Amitsoq mine in Greenland. The funds will be utilized for further exploration of high-grade graphite in southern Greenland and for establishing a pilot processing plant. GreenRoc, a UK-based mining company listed on the London Stock Exchange, aims to develop critical mineral projects, particularly graphite and ilmenite, to become a vertically integrated supplier of graphite anode materials for the electric vehicle industry. This initiative is crucial for the energy transition, as graphite is a key component in lithium-ion battery anodes. The Horten team included partner Lars Lüneborg and counsel Helle Muff Højbjerg.
