Welcome Break, a major UK operator with 60 service areas and a £400 million investment plan, aims to enhance its facilities, including the addition of electric vehicle charging points. The deal ensures long-term stability for Welcome Break and supports the UK's transition to cleaner transport."

Freeths, a leading law firm, advised Welcome Break, a major motorway services operator, in a significant lease agreement with National Highways and the Department for Transport (DfT). This transaction secures the future of eight key service areas for the next 75 years, allowing Welcome Break to continue its investment in infrastructure and services for road users. The lease extension covers sites located on land owned by National Highways, including Newport Pagnell (M1), Corley (M6), Woodall (M1), Birchanger (M11), Warwick (M40), Membury (M4), Keele (M6), and Leicester Forest East (M1). This agreement will enable Welcome Break to enhance its network, including the addition of 32 new ultra-rapid electric vehicle charging points at Leicester Forest East, which is currently the only site without such facilities.
