Clifford Chance, a global law firm, advised Nuveen on its largest C-PACE fund vintage capital raise to date, totaling US$985 million for Nuveen Green Capital’s C-PACE lending strategy. The transaction marks a significant milestone for Nuveen, as it represents the largest fundraising effort to date for its C-PACE fund vintages. C-PACE, or Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy, is a public-private financing program that provides building owners and developers with low-cost, long-term capital to fund improvements aimed at enhancing energy efficiency, water conservation, and climate resiliency. The legal team from Clifford Chance included Funds & Investment Management partner Daniel Drabkin, who led the fund formation, with support from counsel Olya Kurilovich and associate Snow Zheng. Structured Finance partner Rebecca O'Brien advised on the formation of the rated note feeder, assisted by associates Brittany Binderoff and Arifa Abrahim.
