Simpson Thacher represented a consortium of buyers led by Sixth Street, which included Davidson Kempner Capital Management LP, in their acquisition of Select Portfolio Servicing (SPS) from UBS Group AG. SPS is recognized as one of the largest mortgage servicing solutions providers in the United States, managing a portfolio of over 900,000 loans with an unpaid principal balance exceeding $200 billion. The company also operates an approved third-party securitization due diligence firm, a national residential mortgage brokerage, and a licensed appraisal management company.
