Goldman Sachs to Acquire Industry Ventures for $665 Million, with Potential for Additional $300 Million Based on Future Performance

"Goldman Sachs has reached an agreement to acquire Industry Ventures, a prominent venture capital platform, for $665 million at closing, with potential additional payments of up to $300 million based on future performance through 2030. The deal, which is expected to finalize in the first quarter of 2026 pending regulatory approval, will enhance Goldman Sachs' investment capabilities, as Industry Ventures manages $7 billion in assets and has a diverse portfolio of over 800 venture capital and technology-focused funds. Weil is advising Goldman Sachs on this transaction, with a team of partners and associates from various legal specialties involved."

Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP is advising Goldman Sachs in its agreement to acquire Industry Ventures, a prominent venture capital platform. The transaction involves a total consideration of $665 million payable at closing, with an additional contingent consideration of up to $300 million based on Industry Ventures’ future performance through 2030. The deal is anticipated to close in the first quarter of 2026, pending regulatory approval and other conditions. The Weil team working on this transaction includes a diverse group of lawyers across various practice areas. The team is led by Private Equity partners Brian Parness and Alexander Miachika, along with Private Equity partner Harvey Eisenberg and associates Cruz Wiles, Ayush Gulati, and Katie DePaola.
