"Linklaters Advises on HK$106bn Privatisation of Hang Seng Bank"

"Linklaters is advising the joint financial advisers on the proposed privatization of Hang Seng Bank, a major bank in Hong Kong, through a scheme of arrangement. The deal, valued at approximately HK$106 billion (US$13.6 billion), includes the withdrawal of Hang Seng Bank shares from the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The Linklaters team, led by corporate partner Roger Cheng, expressed their satisfaction in supporting this significant transaction."

Linklaters is advising the joint financial advisers to the offeror in the proposed privatisation of Hang Seng Bank, one of Hong Kong SAR’s largest domestic banks. The transaction involves a scheme of arrangement under section 673 of the Companies Ordinance, which aims to withdraw the listing of Hang Seng Bank shares from the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, with a deal value of approximately HK$106 billion (around US$13.6 billion). The Linklaters team is led by corporate partner Roger Cheng and solicitor Inez Wong, with support from associate Zoe Cheung.
