Aeropuerto de Cancún Completes $1.8 Billion Senior Notes Offering

"Simpson Thacher represented the initial purchasers led by J.P. Morgan, BBVA, Citigroup and HSBC in Aeropuerto de Cancún’s offering of $900m 6.711% notes due 2031 and $900m 7.491% notes due 2036, guaranteed by Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste (ASUR). Net proceeds will be used to repay indebtedness, including two bridge facilities tied to acquisitions of URW Airports and Companhia de Participações em Concessões."

Simpson Thacher & Bartlett represented the initial purchasers, led by J.P. Morgan Securities LLC, BBVA Securities Inc., Citigroup Global Markets Inc. and HSBC Securities (USA) Inc., in connection with Aeropuerto de Cancún, S.A. de C.V.’s offering of senior notes. The transaction comprised the offering by Aeropuerto de Cancún, S.A. de C.V. of $900 million aggregate principal amount of 6.711% Senior Notes due 2031 and $900 million aggregate principal amount of 7.491% Senior Notes due 2036. The notes are guaranteed on a senior unsecured basis by its parent company, Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste, S.A.B. de C.V. (ASUR). The net proceeds of the offering are intended to be used primarily for repayment of certain indebtedness, including repayment in full of the principal amounts outstanding under a Ps.6,390 million senior unsecured bridge credit facility dated December 5, 2025, and a U.S.$1,299 million unsecured bridge credit facility dated August 14, 2026, which were entered into in connection with the acquisitions of URW Airports, LLC and Companhia de Participações em Concessões, respectively. ASUR is a leading international airport operator that operates or holds interests, directly or indirectly, in 36 airports across seven countries and territories in Latin America, including Cancún Airport.
