Cruinn Diagnostics acquires Katalyst Diagnostics to strengthen UK diagnostics presence

"Oaklins S&W acted as sell-side M&A advisor to the shareholders of Katalyst Diagnostics in its acquisition by Cruinn Diagnostics. The transaction expands Cruinn's UK footprint, adding NHS customer relationships, local commercial infrastructure and a complementary point-of-care portfolio, while creating cross-border growth opportunities. The combined business has over 100 employees and revenues above US$56 million."

Oaklins S&W, a member firm of Oaklins in the UK, acted as sell-side M&A advisor to the shareholders of Katalyst Diagnostics in the sale of Katalyst Diagnostics Ltd. to Cruinn Diagnostics Ltd. The acquisition strengthens Cruinn Diagnostics' presence in the UK diagnostics market by adding established NHS customer relationships, local commercial infrastructure and a complementary portfolio of point-of-care diagnostic solutions. It also creates opportunities to introduce Cruinn Diagnostics' products to UK customers and to leverage Cruinn's established Irish platform to accelerate growth of Katalyst Diagnostics' portfolio in Ireland. The combined business, with more than 100 employees and revenues in excess of US$56 million, will continue to focus on the UK market, where Cruinn Diagnostics intends to pursue further investment and targeted M&A to expand its position. Katalyst Diagnostics is a UK-based point-of-care diagnostics business specialising in premium and innovative diagnostic solutions for healthcare organisations and clinical professionals. Based in London, the company supports NHS and other healthcare organisations across the UK and Ireland, offering advanced point-of-care technologies in areas including hematology, clinical chemistry and antipsychotic drug monitoring. Its portfolio includes HemoScreen, Piccolo Xpress and MyCare INSITE, supported by diagnostics expertise, training, logistics and customer service. Cruinn Diagnostics is an Irish-owned company established in 1998 and one of Ireland's leading distributors of laboratory and diagnostic products. The company supplies clinical diagnostics, laboratory equipment and consumables, life sciences, pharmaceutical and food testing solutions, point-of-care diagnostics, ultrasound systems and calibration and testing services. Working with international manufacturers, Cruinn supports hospitals, independent laboratories, pharmaceutical and life sciences companies, universities, research organisations and other specialist customers across Ireland, with a comprehensive portfolio spanning clinical chemistry, microbiology, immunoassay, molecular diagnostics and laboratory equipment and consumables.
