A&O Shearman advises ENERCON Group on EUR1 billion syndicated guarantee facility

A&O Shearman advised the ENERCON Group and the Aloys Wobben Stiftung on a refinancing and new financing transaction. The ENERCON Group agreed a new syndicated guarantee facility with its financing partners with a volume of EUR1 billion. The new syndicated credit facility agreement also includes further development options intended to support the company’s business activities. A&O Shearman has acted as legal adviser from the beginning of ENERCON’s restructuring in 2019 through to this successful refinancing in 2026, including several interim steps and partial refinancings, the foundation and financing of Alterric GmbH as a wind park developer and operator in Germany, and the disposal of Quadra Energy to TotalEnergies in 2023.
