FSP advises South West Investment Fund on Mykor equity financing

FSP’s Private Equity & Venture Capital team advised the South West Investment Fund, acting by its fund manager The FSE Group, on the fund’s equity investment in Mykor. The investment forms part of a £4 million funding round for Mykor and brings the company’s total funds raised to £7.5 million. Mykor is a biotechnology company developing low-carbon construction materials from agricultural and industrial waste streams. It has developed proprietary bio-fabrication technologies designed to enable production of sustainable construction products at commercial scale, addressing the construction industry’s need for lower-carbon building materials. The funding will support the continued scale-up of Mykor’s manufacturing capabilities and the deployment of its industrial bio-fabrication technologies across key markets. Olivia Page, Mykor’s CEO and co-founder, said the investment will allow the company to scale further alongside major contractors and manufacturing partners globally. Anna Staevska, Investment Manager at The FSE Group, said the South West Investment Fund’s support will help deliver meaningful carbon reductions through breakthrough materials science and that Mykor is well positioned to scale production and play a significant role in decarbonising the built environment.
