BCLP advised Entrepreneur Equity Partners (EEP) on its minority investment in Football Ventures (Whites) Limited, the holding company of Bolton Wanderers Football Club. The transaction involved EEP’s subsidiary, Entrepreneur Equity Partners SPV VI, LLC, acquiring A ordinary shares in Football Ventures (Whites) Limited. Following completion, EEP holds a 16.67% equity interest in Bolton Wanderers. BCLP also advised on securing the necessary football regulatory approvals, including approvals relating to EEP’s existing multiclub ownership interests and its investments in other European football clubs. The investment represents another milestone in EEP’s growing global sports portfolio and underscores the increasing sophistication of investment structures and regulatory considerations within professional football. As investor interest in sports assets continues to expand, such transactions frequently require coordinated advice across corporate, finance, regulatory, technology, real estate, employment and other specialist disciplines. Earlier this year BCLP also advised EEP on its investment in Venezia Football Club and on a number of other investments and is actively supporting EEP on multiple pending investments around the globe. BCLP represented Entrepreneur Equity Partners (EEP) and its subsidiary Entrepreneur Equity Partners SPV VI, LLC with a team composed by: Kaley Rickert (Coordinator); Marc Trottier (Finance Transactions); Aaron Lang, Katrina Murphy, John Adamson, Grant Atwood and Mayur Kiri (Corporate Transactions); Max Dixon, Olivia Wint, Vishnu Rege, Marcus Pearl and Geraldine Scali (Technology, Commercial & Data); Alexander Berman, Katy Bearn and Anna Robbins (Real Estate); Tom Horniman and Paul Grace (Planning & Zoning); Ellie Serridge and James Anderson (Employment & Labor); and David Dennison (Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation).
