Hogan Lovells Cadwalader advised H4 Marseille Fos in connection with the signing of a nuclear production allocation contract (CAPN) with EDF. Launched in 2025, the H4 Marseille Fos project is developing a synthetic fuel production site at Fos‑sur‑Mer. The project aims to produce 75,000 tonnes per year of sustainable synthetic aviation fuel (e‑SAF) using Methanol‑to‑Jet technology, with commissioning targeted for 2032. The CAPN provides for the allocation of a share of EDF’s operating nuclear fleet capacity of approximately 150 MW for a period of 10 years from the site’s commissioning. The agreement also establishes a balanced sharing of risks and benefits tied to the volumes of electricity actually produced.
