The transaction involves Regions' acquisition of The Frazer Lanier Company, a Montgomery, Alabama-based investment banking firm specializing in municipal and corporate securities. Frazer Lanier has long served corporations, cities, counties and local boards, acting as underwriter and placement agent for taxable and tax-exempt bond offerings. The acquisition expands Regions' municipal finance and investment banking capabilities and strengthens its capital markets platform. Following the acquisition, Frazer Lanier will become part of Regions Bank's Capital Markets division.
