A&O Shearman Advises Verne on Arcus Acquisition of Volta Data Centres

"A&O Shearman advised Verne on an agreement with Arcus Infrastructure Partners under which Arcus European Infrastructure Fund 4 will acquire 100% of Volta Data Centres, Verne’s UK data centre. The 6MW central London facility serves financial services, telecoms, IT and enterprise customers. Completion is expected July 2026."

A&O Shearman advised Verne on its agreement with Arcus Infrastructure Partners under which Arcus European Infrastructure Fund 4 (AEIF4) will acquire Volta Data Centres. The agreement provides that AEIF4 will acquire 100% of Volta Data Centres, which is currently operated as Verne’s U.K. data centre. The transaction is expected to complete in July 2026. Volta is a 6MW carrier-neutral colocation and interconnection facility in central London serving customers across financial services, telecoms, IT and enterprise sectors. The facility offers stable contracted revenues, low customer churn and significant connectivity infrastructure, including more than 40 on-site carriers and over 1,200 cross-connects. For Verne, the transaction reflects a strategic portfolio decision to concentrate investment and resources on low-carbon, high-density data centre infrastructure across Northern Europe suited to AI, high-performance computing and other demanding workloads.
