Ashurst advises Octopus Energy Generation on co-investment in Sessa Aurunca battery storage project

"Ashurst advised Octopus Energy Generation, on behalf of the Sky fund (ORI SCSp), in a co-investment with ZE Energy in the 98.5 MW Sessa Aurunca standalone battery storage project in Campania, Italy — one of the country’s largest, capable of meeting daily electricity needs of around 130,000 households and set to be the largest standalone battery in central-southern Italy."

Ashurst advised Octopus Energy Generation, acting on behalf of the Sky fund (ORI SCSp), in its co-investment with ZE Energy in the Sessa Aurunca battery storage project in Campania, Italy. The transaction concerns a co-investment by Octopus Energy Generation alongside ZE Energy in the Sessa Aurunca standalone battery storage project, developed by ZE Energy, an independent renewable energy producer and European specialist in battery storage. The project has a capacity of 98.5 MW and will be able to store enough electricity to meet the daily needs of approximately 130,000 Italian households. Once operational, it will be the largest standalone battery in central-southern Italy and is among the largest such projects in the country. Ashurst represented Octopus Energy Generation on behalf of the Sky fund (ORI SCSp) with a team composed by: Charles-Douglas Fuz (partner, Corporate/M&A, Paris) who led the team, supported by Andrea Di Rosa (counsel, Corporate/M&A, Milan). Annamaria Pinzuti (partner, Milan), Elena Giuffrè (partner, Milan) and Francesca Sala (associate, Milan) advised on projects and energy aspects.
