BonelliErede advises Bestie Bite founders on €1.5 million SAFE round led by G&G

"BonelliErede advised the founders of Bestie Bite on a €1.5 million SAFE funding round led by the Grassi family through holding G&G. The fresh funding brings total financing to €2.2 million and will support consolidation in Italy and expansion into the US with a new San Francisco base."

BonelliErede advised the founders of Bestie Bite in the closing of a €1.5 million SAFE financing round. The transaction: Bestie Bite, an Italian startup founded in Rome in 2024 that operates in the field of authentic video reviews for the hospitality sector, raised €1.5 million of fresh money via a SAFE instrument. The round brings the company’s total capital raised to €2.2 million and will finance consolidation in Italy and the company’s entry into the United States, where it will establish a new operational base in San Francisco. The round was led by the Grassi family through the family holding G&G, an investor and shareholder in E80 Group. The relationship between the parties originated via social channels after Gabriele Grassi viewed a presentation video related to Bestie Bite’s previous fundraise. The new financing follows a prior €700,000 round led by Techstars less than four months earlier. Bestie Bite’s platform enables users to discover restaurants, bars and hotels through community-generated authentic videos, employing authentication, fraud detection and AI video detection to ensure content reliability. For business customers the platform provides an AI-driven marketing service that converts community videos into monthly editorial plans and publishes them automatically to venues’ social channels via a WhatsApp interface. The company reports more than 100,000 users and over 120,000 uploaded videos across more than 80 countries, and its app has repeatedly ranked among the top 10 most downloaded in Italy. Among the objectives of the round is the expansion into the US market with a San Francisco base. The team has already explored the city and secured initial local partnerships, including Tony’s Pizza and North Beach Restaurant, and counts thousands of local users and more than 500 reviewed restaurants in that market. Bestie Bite is led by co‑founders Carlotta Robbe Di Lorenzo (CEO) and Caterina Vertefeuille (COO), both experienced in hospitality and founders of a previous sustainability startup. The team also includes Placido Falqueto (CTO), a software engineer with a doctorate in AI and Robotics. The company’s main operational headquarters is in Rome at the Casa delle Tecnologie Emergenti, with a second hub at OGR Tech in Turin. BonelliErede represented the founders of Bestie Bite with a team composed by: partner Giulia Bianchi Frangipane, managing associate Enrico Goitre and associate Elena Cozzupoli.
