Linklaters advised Tereos on strategic agreement to form Rebound SAF joint venture with Technip Energies, Airbus and Safran

"Linklaters advised Tereos in a strategic agreement with Technip Energies, Airbus and Safran to create Rebound, a joint venture to produce sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) at the Port of Dunkerque using Alcohol-to-Jet technology, targeting c.160,000 tonnes per year. The JV is subject to customary closing conditions and approvals and is expected to complete in the second half of the year."

Linklaters advised Tereos in a strategic agreement with Technip Energies, Airbus and Safran to establish Rebound, a joint venture dedicated to the industrial-scale production of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) at the Port of Dunkerque in northern France. The project will rely on Alcohol-to-Jet (AtJ) technology and aims for an annual production of approximately 160,000 tonnes of SAF, which would make it one of the largest facilities of its kind in Europe and contribute to strengthening European energy sovereignty. Tereos, a pioneer in biofuels, will join Rebound to supply and secure the advanced ethanol feedstock required for the project. Together the four partners intend to cover the full value chain from raw material supply to end use in aviation, as part of an initiative led solely by European stakeholders. The transaction represents a strategic step for Tereos in line with the group’s decarbonization objectives and development of future markets. The creation of the joint venture is subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals and is expected to be finalised in the second half of the year.
