A&O Shearman advises initial purchasers on EDF’s USD 2.75 billion senior notes offering

"A&O Shearman acted as U.S. and French counsel to the initial purchasers of EDF’s USD 2.75 billion senior notes offering, split into three tranches: USD 1.25bn 5.250% due 2036; USD 1bn 6.125% due 2056; and USD 500m 6.250% due 2066. The engagement builds on the firm’s longstanding relationship with EDF and its continuing role as designated dealers’ counsel on EDF’s EMTN program. The deal team was led by partner Diana Billik, with Maggie Casteel and Georges Haddad on U.S. matters and Julien Sébastien, Quentin Herry and Bianca Nitu on French matters."

The offering comprised three tranches across a c.30‑year maturity spectrum: USD 1.25 billion 5.250% fixed rate notes due 2036; USD 1.0 billion 6.125% fixed rate notes due 2056; and USD 500 million 6.250% fixed rate notes due 2066.
