A&O Shearman Advises Digital Asset on Strategic Investment in Luxembourg DLT Platform HQLAx

"A&O Shearman’s Luxembourg team advised Digital Asset (US) Corp. on its strategic investment in HQLAx S.à r.l., a CSSF‑licensed Luxembourg fintech that runs a DLT platform for securities financing settlement. A&O Shearman advised Digital Asset (US) Corp. on its strategic investment in HQLAx S.à r.l.; Broadridge Financial Solutions participated in the transaction as a co-investor. The deal involves a strategic equity investment by Digital Asset into Luxembourg‑based, CSSF‑licensed fintech HQLAx, which operates a distributed ledger technology platform for the settlement of securities financing transactions. The investment will support HQLAx’s technology evolution, collaboration with Broadridge’s Distributed Ledger Repo (DLR) platform and a planned migration to Digital Asset’s Canton Network, an interoperable, privacy‑enabled blockchain for financial markets. A&O Shearman’s Luxembourg team advised on all Luxembourg law aspects of the transaction and provided strategic advice on steps required to implement the Canton Network transition.
