Kirkland & Ellis advised Delta Utilities, a Bernhard Capital Partners portfolio company, in its agreement to acquire a Mississippi local natural gas distribution company from a subsidiary of Spire Inc. The transaction involves Delta Utilities — the second largest natural gas utility in Mississippi and a Bernhard Capital Partners portfolio company — acquiring a local natural gas distribution business from a Spire Inc. subsidiary. The business serves approximately 18,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers across south central Mississippi, expanding Delta Utilities' footprint in the state.
