Greenberg Traurig represented Kauri CAB Digital Infrastructure GmbH (KCDI) in the acquisition of an approximately 55,000 square metre data center development site in Hochheim am Main. The transaction was structured as an asset deal. The acquired site lies in the Frankfurt/Rhine Main metropolitan region — Europe’s largest data center market and home to DE‑CIX — and provides access to high‑voltage power infrastructure with capacity of up to 90 megavolt‑amperes. The location benefits from a supportive municipal planning environment. The acquisition constitutes a further building block in establishing an institutional data center development pipeline in the Rhine‑Main area. KCDI is a specialised data center development platform focused on the Frankfurt/Rhine Main region: it identifies, acquires and develops hyperscale and artificial‑intelligence‑ready data center sites in Europe’s key digital infrastructure markets. Locations in the Frankfurt area are becoming increasingly important due to limited site availability and extended permitting timelines. Greenberg Traurig advised KCDI on the structuring and execution of the asset deal, including negotiation of the acquisition documentation, real estate due diligence and transaction support through signing and closing. The firm’s scope of advice also covered grid connection and power supply aspects and select energy law matters. Background: KCDI is the newly established digital infrastructure unit of the Kauri CAB Group, a longstanding Greenberg Traurig client. Greenberg Traurig advises the Kauri CAB Group on its entry into the data center market through KCDI and on legal matters relating to the acquisition and development of data center sites and other digital infrastructure projects.
