Noerr advises Schwarz Digits on joint venture with Berlin university hospital for secure interconnection of health data

"Noerr advised Schwarz Digits on the formation of Schwarz Charité Health Data GmbH, a joint venture with a Berlin university hospital to operate a platform for secure interconnection of medical data on STACKIT’s sovereign cloud. Schwarz Digits will hold 75% and the hospital 25%. Schwarz Corporate Solutions acted as in-house counsel."

Noerr Partnerschaftsgesellschaft mbB advised Schwarz Digits on the transaction, and Schwarz Corporate Solutions (in-house) supported the Schwarz Group on the client side. The transaction concerns the establishment of a joint venture to be formed as Schwarz Charité Health Data GmbH. The new company will operate a platform for the secure interconnection of health data, designed to facilitate the exchange and use of medical data under the highest data protection standards and thereby support modern research and patient care. The platform will run on STACKIT’s sovereign cloud infrastructure, ensuring that full data sovereignty remains in Germany. The partnership combines Schwarz Digits’ technological capabilities with the medical expertise of the Berlin university hospital. Schwarz Digits will hold a 75% stake in the joint venture while the university hospital will hold 25%.
