Akerman represented Alliance Ground International (AGI) and AGI's senior management, advising AGI as outside general counsel and the management team in the acquisition of AGI by Lone Star Funds from Audax Private Equity and Greenbriar Equity Group. The transaction involved the acquisition of AGI, an airport services provider, by Lone Star Funds, a global private equity firm. Lone Star acquired AGI from sellers Audax Private Equity and Greenbriar Equity Group. Founded in 1987 and headquartered in Miami, Florida, Alliance Ground International provides airport ground handling and cargo services to airlines and logistics customers across North America, operating at more than 60 airports in the United States and Canada. Akerman represented Alliance Ground International and its senior management with a team composed by: corporate law partner Jonathan Awner; labor and employment law partners Arlene Kline and Marissa Alguire; and tax law partner William Sullivan. Akerman has represented AGI since 2017, primarily in general corporate, employment, and regulatory matters.
