Ashtons Legal represented Mr R in a personal injury claim following a high‑velocity motorway collision with a Ministry of Defence vehicle. Ashtons Legal secured a £75,000 settlement for Mr R after he sustained multiple injuries in the collision, including upper‑body trauma, head injury, whiplash and a period of amnesia immediately after the incident. Although his physical injuries healed well, Mr R was diagnosed with a subtle brain injury that resulted in changes to his speech, mood and memory and caused persistent headaches. The firm obtained orthopaedic, neurological and neuropsychological evidence, which supported the diagnosis of a subtle brain injury. Mr R was able to return to work and to almost all of his pre‑accident activities, as his symptoms were not disabling or particularly intrusive; nevertheless, the medical examinations were essential to establish the full extent of the damage and to obtain an appropriate financial settlement. Ashtons Legal represented Mr R with a team composed by: Kerry Jones, personal injury claim specialist.
