Addleshaw Goddard Advises Mapfre on Launch of €100M "Bioenergy Agro Iberia" Biomethane Fund Targeting Spain and Portugal

"Addleshaw Goddard has advised Mapfre on the launch of its second biomethane fund, Bioenergy Agro Iberia, a vehicle targeting €100 million. Abante will act as manager and IAM Carbonzero as adviser. The fund will invest in a diversified portfolio of biomethane projects in Spain and Portugal and related activities (biofertiliser and biocompost management, logistics, and CO₂ production/commercialisation for greenhouses). The advising team was led by Isabel Rodríguez (Head of Funds), with Enrique Torné and Lara Taylor; the fund’s expanded geographic scope underlines the sponsors’ commitment to decarbonisation and sustainable energy infrastructure."
