Hogan Lovells Advises Serica Energy on Acquisition of TotalEnergies’ UK Offshore Assets and Shetland Gas Plant

"On 30 March 2026, Hogan Lovells advised Serica Energy Plc on the completion of its acquisition of TotalEnergies’ operated interests in offshore oil and gas fields west of the Shetland Islands, together with the onshore Shetland Gas Plant. The cross-practice London team was led by energy M&A partner Alastair Young, supported by associates Akhil Parekh and Ben Littlewood and specialists in tax, employment, competition and projects. Hogan Lovells said the transaction creates a new operated hub for Serica."

Hogan Lovells advised Serica Energy Plc in its acquisition of assets from TotalEnergies. The deal completed on 30 March 2026 and involved Serica acquiring TotalEnergies’ operated interests in offshore oil and gas fields west of the Shetland Islands, together with the onshore Shetland Gas Plant, creating a new operated hub for Serica. The Hogan Lovells team was led by London-based energy M&A partner Alastair Young, with M&A associates Akhil Parekh and Ben Littlewood, and was supported by Philip Harle (tax), Tom Eyre-Brook (tax), Ed Bowyer (employment), Angus Coulter (competition), Christopher Peacock (competition) and Andrew Shaw (projects).
