Bpifrance launches inaugural €1bn European Green Bond (EuGB) — CMS Francis Lefebvre advises joint lead managers
"CMS Francis Lefebvre advised the joint lead managers (Barclays, BNP Paribas, Crédit Agricole CIB, J.P. Morgan SE and Morgan Stanley Europe SE; Crédit Agricole CIB as sole green coordinator) on Bpifrance’s inaugural European Green Bonds (EuGB) issuance of €1 billion. The bonds pay 3.375% annually and mature on 25 February 2036. Proceeds will be fully allocated to finance or refinance medium- and long-term loans in France for renewable energy, clean transport, waste management and green buildings under Bpifrance’s new Green Bond Framework and EuGB information sheet. The deal drew strong demand with a final order book above €8.8 billion; Clifford Chance advised Bpifrance. Bpifrance is the first French public bank to issue in the EuGB format and the third French issuer on the EuGB market."
