Ashurst advises Vena Group on $200 million revenue‑share deal with InCommodities for 204MW Bellambi Heights BESS

"Ashurst advised Vena Group on a c. $200 million Revenue Share Agreement with Danish energy trader InCommodities for the 204 MW Bellambi Heights Battery Energy Storage System in Central West NSW. The deal, formalised during the Danish royal state visit, gives Vena operational control while InCommodities provides revenue certainty to manage market risk; initial energisation is expected late 2026 and full commercial operation by mid‑2027. The Ashurst team was led by partner Dale Gill, assisted by lawyer Carl Franzmann."

Ashurst advised Vena Group in its transaction with Danish energy trading company InCommodities. The parties entered a Revenue Share Agreement, valued at approximately $200 million, for the development of the 204 MW Bellambi Heights Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Central West New South Wales. Under the agreement InCommodities provides revenue certainty while Vena Group retains operational control and manages market risk. The deal was formalised during the Danish Royal State Visit to Australia; construction is underway, with initial energisation expected in late 2026 and full commercial operations by mid‑2027.
