ADVANT Nctm Advises Sagitter in Bank of Italy Authorization as NPL Servicer

"ADVANT Nctm advised Sagitter in its authorization proceedings before Banca d'Italia to operate as a manager of non-performing loans under Articles 114(1) et seq. of the TUB. The role, introduced after Italy's transposition of the SMD directive, enables collection and recovery of NPLs for purchasers; the firm supported Sagitter through organizational, contractual and supervisory steps, securing authorization on 17 February 2025."

ADVANT Nctm assisted Sagitter in the authorization proceedings before Banca d'Italia for registration as a manager of non-performing loans pursuant to Articles 114(1) et seq. of the Italian Banking Act (TUB). This role is a new type of intermediary, recently introduced following Italy's transposition of the SMD directive, authorised to collect and recover non-performing loans on behalf of NPL purchasers. The ADVANT Nctm team supported the company in defining an appropriate corporate and organisational structure, in reviewing contracts with outsourcers and internal procedures, and in its engagement with the supervisory authority, culminating in the issuance of the authorisation on 17 February 2025.
