Watson Farley & Williams strengthens APAC maritime team with partner Paul Coggins

"Watson Farley & Williams has appointed Paul Coggins as a partner in its Tokyo office to strengthen its maritime practice in the Asia-Pacific region."

Paul Coggins has joined Watson Farley & Williams as a partner in the firm’s Tokyo office. Coggins was previously a partner at Norton Rose Fulbright, where he had been a partner since 2016 and led the firm’s maritime practice in Japan. He originally completed his training at Watson Farley & Williams in London, Singapore and Hong Kong. His practice focuses on the maritime sector, advising leading commercial banks, export credit agencies and sponsors on innovative financing structures, including complex cross-border projects, asset-based leasing and debt facilities. His expertise also covers key commercial shipping agreements such as shipbuilding contracts and charterparties, and he advises on ship sales, joint venture projects, acquisitions of ship-owning companies and shipping loan portfolios, as well as enforcements.
