Clifford Chance Advises Helical and Places for London JV on Disposal of Southwark PBSA and Affordable Housing Schemes

Clifford Chance advised long-standing client Helical plc and its joint venture partner Places for London on disposals relating to their Southwark over-station development. The transaction involved the sale by way of a forward funding agreement of the purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) scheme at the Southwark over-station site to a vehicle wholly owned by Places for London. As part of the wider transaction, the joint venture also forward sold the adjacent nine-storey affordable residential building to the London Borough of Southwark. Places for London is Transport for London’s property company. Southwark is one of three development sites being advanced by Helical and Places for London; Clifford Chance is also advising on the over-station developments at Bank and Paddington.
