Mattos Filho and Machado Meyer Advise on Atlas Renewable Energy US$3 Billion Refinancing

Mattos Filho advised Atlas Renewable Energy and its subsidiaries, Machado Meyer advised the lenders, including TMF Brasil Administração e Gestão de Ativos, and Milbank LLP also advised the lenders in the refinancing transaction. The transaction involved the refinancing of debts totaling approximately US$3 billion (around R$15.5 billion) and encompassed more than 11 jurisdictions. It has been presented as the largest corporate refinancing for clean energy projects in Latin America to date. The refinancing is intended to allow Atlas to strengthen its capital structure, secure more competitive financing conditions across its portfolio and provide a solid foundation for the continued expansion of clean energy infrastructure. The transaction covered a portfolio of high-performing solar generation and storage assets concentrated in Brazil, Chile and Mexico, and included collateral located in Brazil.
