Ben Cavender Joins Dorsey & Whitney LLP as Of Counsel in Finance & Restructuring in Minneapolis

Ben Cavender has joined Dorsey & Whitney LLP as Of Counsel in the firm’s Finance & Restructuring group in Minneapolis. Cavender returns to Dorsey & Whitney from U.S. Bank, where he served as Assistant General Counsel. He brings more than a decade of in‑house experience, with insight into how organizations assess risk, manage competing priorities, and execute strategic goals. He focuses his practice on commercial lending, restructuring, and matters arising from financial pressure or operational disruption. His work includes advising clients on commercial collections and workouts, bankruptcy matters, secured transactions involving real estate and personal property, note sales, and liability‑management strategies. Cavender holds a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, an M.B.A. from Vanderbilt University Owen School of Management, and a B.A. from Vanderbilt University.
