Three National Security Leaders Join Greenberg Traurig in Washington, D.C.

"Greenberg Traurig has added Patrick Gilman, Neal Higgins, and Joshua W. Johnson to its Washington, D.C. National Security Group to strengthen its national security, cybersecurity, and investigations capabilities."

Patrick Gilman, Neal Higgins, and Joshua W. Johnson have joined Greenberg Traurig’s Washington, D.C., office as members of its National Security Group.

Patrick Gilman joins Greenberg Traurig as chair of the National Security Group. He is a national security and white collar defense attorney with more than 20 years of experience managing cross-border investigations, criminal litigation, and international law matters. A former award-winning Judge Advocate in the Army and a decorated combat veteran, Gilman previously served as global co-head of national security investigations at Eversheds Sutherland. He maintains a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance and has experience prosecuting and defending criminal and high-profile national security cases, guiding clients through sensitive matters before federal agencies, and developing global compliance programs and strategies.

Neal Higgins joins the firm from U.S. government service and will work on national security, cybersecurity, and digital innovation matters. Higgins spent more than a decade in the CIA’s Senior Intelligence Service, serving as the agency’s top liaison to Capitol Hill and as Associate Deputy Director for Digital Innovation, and he served on detail to the White House as Deputy National Cyber Director for National Cybersecurity. He was a founding member of the Office of the National Cyber Director, helped build the integrated federal response to significant cyber incidents, and previously spent eight years working in the U.S. Senate, including with the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. Higgins maintains an active TS/SCI security clearance.

Joshua W. Johnson joins from U.S. Cyber Command, where he served as Deputy General Counsel and as Senior Counsel to the Cyber National Mission Force’s AI Task Force and Public-Private Collaboration Center. He brings two decades of legal experience in national security, litigation, cybersecurity, data privacy, and artificial intelligence. An award-winning national security lawyer and decorated combat veteran and former Army Ranger, Johnson advised U.S. military special operations forces on clandestine counterterrorism missions and cyber operations and holds a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
