Boies Schiller Flexner Adds Gordon Z. Novod to Bankruptcy Litigation Practice

Gordon Z. Novod has joined Boies Schiller Flexner LLP as a partner in the firm’s New York City office.

Novod brings extensive litigation experience in bankruptcy and restructuring matters, having represented trustees and institutional investors in disputes involving bankruptcy avoidance actions, state law fraudulent transfer claims, fiduciary duty and unlawful dividend litigation, and corporate governance matters. He also has substantial experience with litigation concerning corporate debt securities in default and distressed situations, including exchange transactions, redemptions, and issues under the Trust Indenture Act. His practice encompasses contested aspects of Chapter 11 plans of reorganization, valuation and plan confirmation proceedings, debtor-in-possession financing and cash collateral disputes, and other bankruptcy-related litigation.

Novod’s experience spans multiple industries and notable restructurings, including disputes arising from the restructurings of Bed Bath & Beyond Inc., Rite Aid, Loyalty Ventures Inc., Joann Inc., General Motors, Bethlehem Steel, WCI Steel, and the Tribune Company. He is the author of Driving the Recovery Bus: Augmenting Creditor Recoveries Through Claims Brought by a Litigation Trustee, published by the American Bankruptcy Institute in 2024, and is a member of the Federal Bar Council and its Bankruptcy Litigation Committee and the American Bankruptcy Institute; he has previously served on the New York City Bar Association's Committee on Bankruptcy and Corporate Reorganization.
