Basham, Ringe y Correa strengthens criminal and intellectual property practices with partner Mario Uribe

Uribe is a criminal defense attorney who has represented domestic and international clients in federal and state proceedings, advising both defendants and victims in high-profile cases. He is known for developing litigation strategies grounded in specialized legislation in areas such as health, environmental and intellectual property law, and for advising on the design and implementation of criminal compliance and anti–money laundering programs focused on risk prevention and management.
He has led and overseen intellectual property enforcement actions, including more than 40 operations in a single year, and has managed the seizure and destruction of illegal goods valued in the tens of millions of dollars. Among his achievements is strengthening the prosecution of intellectual property crimes in Mexico, enabling clients to obtain fair compensation for damages.
Uribe holds a law degree and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) with honors from Universidad Panamericana and is currently a doctoral candidate. He has been a Professor of Criminal Law at Universidad Panamericana since 2013 and is the author of Criminal Law of Industrial Property (Derecho penal de la propiedad industrial) (Tirant Lo Blanch, 2022). He regularly participates as a speaker and moderator at national and international forums on criminal law and human rights.
Before joining Basham, Uribe led the criminal law practice at an intellectual property boutique firm with offices in Mexico and Spain.
