Foster Garvey Adds Associates Anne Dorshimer and Morgan Jones to Seattle Office

"Foster Garvey has hired associates Anne Dorshimer (Commercial & IP Transactions; Alcoholic Beverages) and Morgan Jones (Investment Management; Tax) to its Seattle office."

Anne Dorshimer and Morgan Jones have joined Foster Garvey's Seattle office as associates.

Anne Dorshimer will support the Commercial & IP Transactions practice group and apply her regulatory knowledge and dispute-resolution experience to Foster Garvey’s Alcoholic Beverages practice. Previously a member of a Seattle-based law firm, she led civil litigation matters in federal courts, administrative courts and private arbitration for alcoholic beverage, health care and other clients. Dorshimer also served as Assistant General Counsel at the Washington State Department of Financial Institutions, where she interpreted and applied federal and state securities laws, regulations and statements of policy and corresponded with issuers on compliance. She clerked for the Hon. David W. Christel of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington and for the Hon. Frances Marie Tydingco-Gatewood of the U.S. District Court of Guam. Dorshimer holds a J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in international relations and Mandarin Chinese from Michigan State University.

Morgan Jones joins Foster Garvey as an associate in the Investment Management practice group. He arrives from a Big Four firm where he managed multi-state tax services, overseeing state income tax compliance, controversy and consulting engagements for corporate and pass-through entities. At his prior employer he supervised hundreds of state income tax filings, managed local and international project teams, and advised on the tax implications of company sales and acquisitions. Jones will apply his tax consulting and advisory experience to the tax law needs of the firm’s public pension fund and other institutional investor clients. He holds an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of San Francisco, a joint J.D./M.B.A. from Seattle University School of Law and Albers School of Business and Economics, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration and economics from Eastern Washington University.
