Dentons appoints Beth Taylor as Global Chief Legal Officer and Shane Mercer as Global Chief Information Officer

Beth Taylor and Shane Mercer have joined Dentons as Global Chief Legal Officer and Global Chief Information Officer, respectively. Both will be members of the Firm’s Global Management Committee and report to Global CEO Kate Barton.

Beth Taylor, based in New York, joins Dentons from Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, where she served as General Counsel for 14 years. Previously, she was Head of Litigation at RBS Americas and at ABN AMRO. Taylor will enter Dentons with the seniority of Global Chief Legal Officer and will work closely with the Firm’s Regional General Counsels in support of the Firm’s priorities. She begins her role on February 2.

Shane Mercer, based in Toronto, has been appointed Global Chief Information Officer. Mercer has spent more than 25 years with Dentons, during which time he has led transformation and optimized operations across platforms in the more than 85 countries where the Firm operates. He will lead Dentons’ Global Business Technology team, driving technological innovation and optimizing services across the global Firm. Mercer assumes his role with immediate effect.
