Eubelius promotes Michiel Stuyts to counsel

"Eubelius promotes Michiel Stuyts to counsel in its Corporate/M&A team. Stuyts specialises in investment and acquisition projects, with a focus on private equity and experience in investment funds and capital market transactions."

Michiel Stuyts has been appointed counsel at Eubelius, effective 1 January 2026.

Since joining Eubelius in 2016, Stuyts has developed a strong track record in the firm’s Corporate/M&A team. He has concentrated on investment and acquisition projects, with a particular focus on private equity, and has also gained experience advising on matters ranging from investment funds to capital market transactions. Among the notable matters in which he was intensively involved was Crelan’s acquisition of AXA Bank Belgium.

In addition to his transactional practice, Stuyts completed a PhD focused on deferred equity instruments—legal techniques relating to future shares relevant to management incentive structures and convertible instruments—and says he applies that specialist knowledge in his day-to-day advisory work.

Stuyts views the promotion as both recognition of his contributions and an evolution toward a more managerial and strategic role. He has become increasingly involved in team leadership and intends to continue guiding clients through the full lifecycle from fundraising to investment to exit, while exploring the practical and critical use of AI in legal practice. He also notes the personal milestone of expecting his first child in April.
